Yes, the YWCA Hotel in Vancouver is open to ALL travellers - women, men, families and groups.
What currency are your rates in?
Our rates are in Canadian dollars, which are close in value to the American dollar. For conversion to US dollars or any other currency, please click here.
What is your tax?
We charge a 10% Room Tax on our room rates only as required by our Provincial Government.
Do you have a restaurant?
We do not have a full service restaurant, however, we do have a coffee bar in the lobby that offers coffee & soft drinks, muffins, pastries and light lunches.
Is breakfast included?
No, the rate quoted is for your room only.
Are bed linens & towels included?
Yes, we provide all bed and bath linens during your stay.
Do you sell beds within shared rooms?
No. All our rooms are private rooms. We do not have hostel or dormitory style accommodations.
Can I bring my pet?
Sorry, we do not allow pets in the YWCA Hotel.
Why do you need my credit card number when I book?
We do not charge anything to your card at the time of booking, but your credit card number is used to guarantee your reservation. We will then hold the room for you all night even if you are arriving very late. If you decide to cancel your reservation, you must notify us at least 24-hours prior to your arrival time to avoid a cancellation charge.
What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in time is 3:00pm. If you arrive after that time, a room should be ready for your check-in. If you arrive earlier and a room is ready, you can check-in when you arrive. We ask that you check-out of your room before 11:00am on your departure day.
Can I store my luggage if my room is not ready? What about over night?
We have a baggage room where you can store your luggage if you arrive before your room is ready. If you need a place to store your luggage for the day after you have checked out, you can store them in the baggage room too. Unfortunately, there is no place to store your bags overnight if you are not a guest for the night in the hotel.
Do I need to have a YWCA or YMCA membership to stay at the YWCA Hotel?
No you don't. Anyone can stay at the YWCA Hotel in Vancouver. However, if you are a YWCA or YMCA member, you may qualify for a slightly lower rate, so please mention it when booking.
What is the difference between a room with a semi-private shower and one with a hall bathroom?
A room with hall bathroom has the toilet facility plus a bath or shower located in a separate private room down the corridor on your floor. A room with a semi-private shower has a shower and toilet area attached to your room and is shared between two rooms. When in use, there is an electronic locking system that ensures the area is completely private and cannot be entered from the other room. However, all rooms without a private bath have their own sink.
Is parking available?
We have limited parking in a secure, underground lot for hotel guests only. The cost is $9.00 per night, including tax. Parking is allocated on a first arrival basis and cannot be reserved in advance. However, if you arrive and our lot is full, there is ample alternate parking at neighbouring hotels or on street level.
